It's nice to give out freebies to people, but I feel like if we all made a conscious effort to be aware of the people who aren't as fortunate as us, maybe people wouldn't be homeless in the first place.
That's definitely valid. There probably has to be both. People can sit and speculate on privilege all day, but real progress comes from action. Too often homeless people are ignored or sterotyped, when they are just as human as us.
